Game 1:
The Panthers fought back hard after falling down by ten runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 12-10 defeat to Rose State College in game one of the doubleheader. Neosho scored nine runs in the failed comeback. Lydia Brown, Journee Zito, Britney Hughes, and Katie Boline picked up RBI's to lead the rally, but falling short despite out-hitting Rose State College 12 to 11.
Ravin Moore took the loss for the Panthers on the mound. The sophomore right hander went four innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out one and walking none. Cassidy Paulson started the game for the Panthers. The pitcher went two innings, allowing five runs on six hits, striking out one and walking zero. Neosho smacked three home runs during game with freshmen Britney Hughes and Katie Boline both hitting their first career home runs in the seventh inning. Zito contributed a long ball in the fourth inning. Although they came up short, the Panthers offense definitely showed up, as they contributed 12 hits in the ballgame. Boline and Lauren Fuller managed multiple hits for the Panthers and Boline led the team with four hits in five at bats.
Game 2:
It came down to the last play, but Neosho was on the wrong end of a 15-14 defeat to Rose State College for game two, as the Raiders walked off the Panthers in the seventh inning. The Panthers fell behind by five runs in the sixth inning, but fought hard and tried to mount a comeback. The Panthers scored eight runs in the failed comeback as Lydia Brown,Ayche Marchoud, Katie Boline, Kirsten Birdwell, and Lauren Fuller all had some great at bats. Neosho's big bats came up in in the seventh inning and Brown, Marchoud, Birdwell, Boline, Journee Zito, and Fuller all contributed quality at bats to get the Panthers back in the ballgame. Olivia Cummings took the loss for the Panthers. The freshman right hander lasted seven innings, allowing 11 hits and 13 runs while striking out five. The Panthers racked up 14 hits in the game, however, it was not enough to take down the Raiders. Hannah Duin, Cassidy Paulson, Boline, Birdwell, and Karley Crowe all managed multiple hits for the Panthers in this ballgame.
The Panthers will look to get back on track as they head to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (NEO) on February, 25th for a doubleheader.Â
