Box Score Chanute, KS – The Panthers fell to the Blue Devils of Kansas City Kansas in a tough fought four set
conference match on Wednesday night (25-20, 18-25, 22-25, 26-28). The Panthers started set one on
top and had an early six point lead at 15-9. The Blue Devils would tie it up at 16 before taking a one
point lead. The Panthers were able to pull back in front and take set one 25-20. Set two would be tied
up early at 8-8 before the Panthers would take a four point advantage. The Blue Devils would rally 7
straight points to take the lead. KCK would keep that lead and end set two at 25-18. Set three would
stay tight the whole way through, the Blue Devils were able to pull out on top 25-22. The Panthers
would gain an eight point lead early in the fourth set at 12-4. The Blue Devils were able to fight off the
lead and tie it up at 22-22. The Panthers had set point at 24-23, an attack error by the Panthers would
tie it back up at 24-24. The Blue Devils were able to come away with set four 28-26.
The Panther offense was led by sophomore outside
Hannah Brisco with 15 kills. Defensively the
Panthers were led by sophomore libero
Brooklyn Strobel with 22 digs followed by sophomore defensive
specialists
Riley Kallevig with 17. Sophomore middle
McKinley Pruitt had a career high 6 aces on the
match.
The Panthers move to 5-3 in KJCCC play and 8-9 overall. The Panthers next matchup will be sophomore
