Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Panthers Fall to #12 Hutchinson

The Panthers traveled to face #12 Hutchinson Community College on Saturday night. The Dragons forced the Panthers into multiple turnovers in the first quarter by using a suffocating press and went on to beat the Panthers 100-58. This loss brings their record to (1-3,0-2) on the season. Coach Davis commented on the game by saying, "Hutchinson came out and pressed our young guards and they took away our pace. As we continue to grow this season we need to be able to attack the pressure and make them pay with our three-point shooting. Lack of defensive rebounding is also really hurting our ability to get out into transition".

Game Notes
The Panthers looked to knock off a top team in the country last night, but they were unable to get things going from the beginning as they could only score 11 points in the first quarter and allowed 31 points to Hutchinson. Turnovers played a big factor in this game for the Panthers as they committed 31 turnovers, which led to many of the Dragons first quarter points. The Panthers one bright spot was that a lot of young players got playing time against a powerhouse in the conference. The Panthers are definitely in a rebuilding year and are learning how to compete at this level from game to game. Mike'ya House (Lee Summit, MO) led the way for the Panthers with 13 Points and Briona Jensen (Junction City, KS) pitched in 12 points and 8 Rebounds.
