Chanute, KS - The Neosho Panthers were able to cut a 21-point deficit to eleven in the third quarter, but the Pirates did not allow the home team to get any closer as Neosho lost to Independence 85-65 Wednesday evening, February 5. The defeat drops Neosho to 10-13 overall and 4-11 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference while the Pirates improved to 13-9 overall and 10-5 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
Sophomores
Chrissy Brown and
Jessica Jones led the Panthers in scoring with 18 points each. Sophomore
Ashley Dillinger added 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Morgan Bolen contributed 5.
Hayley Stiger finished with 4 points and 6 rebounds. Freshman
Sonya Dozier came off the bench to chip in 7.
Next up for the Panthers will be a Saturday road game to Arkansas City Kansas in a KJCCC East matchup against the Cowley Tigers. Game set to tip at 5:30 pm.
