Four Panthers Score in Double Digits in 32-Point Rout of Rival Allen County in Conference Showdown


Chanute, KS - The Panthers (12-16, 6-14 KJCCC
) won the home conference showdown against Allen County Saturday night and completed the regular-season sweep with the victory, while the Red Devils, (8-21, 3-17 KJCCC) dropped their fourth contest in a row. 

Neosho held Allen to 28 percent shooting in the game and forced 18 Red Devil turnovers en route to the win. The Panthers opened the game on a 9-0 run and never trailed in the contest. After the early minutes, the Panthers would hold a double-digit advantage throughout the entire game. The Panthers lead would swell to as many as 45 late in the third quarter.

Overall the Panthers shot 47.4 from the field and going 16-34, 47% from the three-point line. Neosho went 15-18 from the stripe.

Chrissy Brown recorded her second straight triple-double. Brown finished with 17 points, 10 assists, and 11 rebounds. Jessica Jones and Hayley Stiger both led the Panthers in scoring with 22 points each. Stiger was an efficient 9-of-14 from the field, highlighted by going 2-of-3 from beyond the arc. She also added six rebounds and three steals in her 20 minutes of gametime. Sophomore Morgan Bolen scored 16 points. 

The Panthers honored their five sophomores, Chrissy Brown, Jessica Jones, Hayley Stiger, Morgan Bolen, and Ashley Dillinger after they played their final game on their home floor.
 
Neosho (12-16, 6-14) finishes fifth place in the KJCCC East. They are the No. 9 overall seed in the Region VI Tournament.
 
The Panthers will face the No. 8 seed Pratt, February 26 at 6:00 pm., who they lost to earlier in the year 86-77 on the road. Winner of the first-round game will advance to the quarterfinal round in Dodge City, KS at the United Wireless Arena.
