Dynamic duo: Brown, Jones combine for 54 points to lift Neosho over Coffeyville

Chanute, KS – The visitors had the better start Saturday and led 14-6 with 3:25 remaining in the first quarter. The Panthers did not score for the first three minutes of the game until Chrissy Brown knocked down a three-pointer to put Neosho on the board. Coffeyville led by two, 16-14 to end the first quarter.
 
Late in the second quarter, the Panthers took the lead and never let up. To close the first half, Neosho was up 35-28.
 
Third-quarter, the Panthers first bucket was from a put-back from Sophomore Ashley Dillinger. Neosho outscored the Red Ravens 22-19. Coffeyville got within five two times in the third quarter.
 
The Panthers would take control of the game in the fourth building a double-digit lead with eight minutes left to play in the contest and holding the Red Ravens to just 9 points while scoring 35. The Panther defense forced Coffeyville into 21 turnovers and converting those into 26 Panther points. The Panther margin ballooned to 23 (75-52) in the fourth when sophomore Hayley Stiger nailed a jumper with 3:30 on the clock.
 
Sophomores Chrissy Brown and Jessica Jones each had 27 points. Brown added 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. Sophomore Haley Stiger added 15 points while Morgan Bolen finished with 10.

Neosho hits the road Wednesday, January 29th to Concordia to take on the Cloud County Thunderbirds. Game set to tip 5:30 p.m.
