The Neosho County Community College men's soccer team went 4-0 this past week, scoring a total of 12 goals. Neosho started off the week beating NEO A&M CC 3-1 on Tuesday, then the very next day they beat Metro CC 2-0. They finished up the week with a double header over Labor Day weekend beating Trinidad State JC 3-2 on Saturday and Otero JC 4-0 on Sunday.
Panthers had some big performances from sophomores
Alfie Belcher, Kristian Colaci and
Elie Lubino this week. Belcher who is the current KJCCC Player of the Week, scored a total of 5 goals and added 4 assists in the 4 games, Colaci had 3 goals and 1 assist while Lubino played all 90 minutes in each of the 4 games. Freshmen
Jose Vega, Nathan Bouard and
Matheus Paes also had an excellent week to help the Panthers stay undefeated.Â
The 4 wins pushed the Panthers to a 5-0 overall record and a #7 ranking in the NJCAA DI Week 1 Nation Poll. This is the highest the Neosho men's soccer program has ever been ranked. They will now prepare for Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference East Division play which begins this Wednesday. The Panthers will be facing off against Coffeyville.
