Chanute, KS - Neosho Softball's effort to come back from down six runs in the fifth inning came up just short, as they fell 7-5 to #5 Des Moines Area Community College in game one. Kylie Long in the seventh, cutting the lead by only two. The Panthers put up three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Neosho was led by Phillips and
Kinsley Stewart, all driving in runs in the frame. The Panthers had five runs on seven hits over seven innings, striking out six.
Kaelee Escoe took the loss for Neosho. She lasted all seven innings, allowing twelve hits and seven runs, while striking out two. Phillips led the Panthers with two hits in three at bats.
In game two Neosho fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 14-2 loss to #5 DMACC for game two on Tuesday. The Panthers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of DMACC, giving up 14 runs.
Ryleigh Chaffin took the loss for Neosho. She went three and a third innings, allowing seven runs on six hits, striking out one and walking one.
Kat McManus started the game for the Panthers. She allowed nine hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, walking one. Neosho launched one home run on the day.
