THIS DAY IN PANTHER BASKETBALL HISTORY
Â
On this day in 2013 the Panthers traveled to Johnson County Community College for an early season matchup. Â Panther great
BJ Jenkins went crazy scoring 25 points, hitting 3 of 4 from downtown and dropping 7 assists. The Panthers went on to beat the Cavaliers 98 to 89. That season BJ and the Panthers would end the season with a 21 and 11 record while going 11 and 0 at home. #SHOtime

SETTING THE SCENE
The Panthers are coming off their first loss of the season after falling to the #5 Highland Scotties 67-63.. Freshman
Trey Bates would lead the way with 20 points while
Jae-Min Yang chipped in 11 points. The rest of the Panthers had an off-scoring night as the Panthers shot an ugly 22% from behind the arch and 31% from the field.
Â
Spotlighting one of the double-digit scorers is sophomore guard/forward Jae-min Yang. Yang is in his second season with the Panthers and is one of the three returning faces to the lineup. Yang originally from Seoul Korea was a key player for the Panthers as a freshman averaging 8.3 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game, while starting in all 30 games for the Panthers and has stepped up to take on the leadership role for this year's team.Â
Â
"Jae-Min is one of the hardest working guys on the team and when in a leadership role that is a must," Said Coach
Jeremy Coombs. "He's the guy in the gym and weight room everyday working on his craft. But more importantly he's a student first and has great grades."
Â
SCOUTING FORT SCOTT
With a quick turn around and their third game in four days the Panthers will need to reset and prepare for a scrappy Fort Scott team that is 4-0 on the season. Last night the Greyhounds beat Northwest Tech JV 105 to 60. The Greyhounds are averaging 88 points per game, while grabbing 35 rebounds and dishing out 14.7 assists per game. The Greyhounds are led by Vincent Barron who is averaging 13.3 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Â
SERIES HISTORY
In the Coombs era the Panthers are 13-1 vs the Greyhounds. The only loss came back in 2013 when the Panthers fell 57 to 63 at Fort Scott.
