GAME PREVIEW: vs. Missouri Southern JV

Chanute, KS – The Neosho Panthers will open the 2019-20 season this evening when they take on the Missouri Southern State Lions JV team here on the campus of Neosho County Community College.

This will be the first meeting between these two programs.  Under coach Jeremy Coombs the Panthers are 12-1 on opening night.  The only season opening loss came last year in the hands of Labette County Community College losing 53-77.  The Panthers shot just 14% from three and 21% from the field. "I'm not sure we could have played any worse." Panther head coach Jeremy Coombs Said, "Labette did a great job of guarding us and forcing us into bad shots. I take full responsibility for that." The Panthers historically a high power scoring team lived and died by the three last season but coach Jeremy Coombs guarantees that this year's team will play an inside out game to mix things up offensively.

The game tonight will tip off at 5:00pm due to Chanute High School hosting a home playoff football game.

"The high school has had a tremendous football season this year, and we wanted to make it, so Chanute fans had the chance to see both teams play." Coombs said, "Hopefully we both can give Chanute two wins."
