The Neosho County Community College men's soccer team took on Coffeyville Community College at the Chanute Sports Complex this past Sunday evening. The game originally scheduled for Saturday evening had to be changed due to heavy rain and lighting on Saturday night.
The date change did not affect Neosho as they jumped in front with a 16 seconds goal right from the start! The goal came from freshmen midfielder
Murilo Oliveira with a shot from around 25-30 yards away. Freshmen
Felipe Martins would double the score to 2-0 late on in the second half.
Coffeyville pulled a goal back at the start of the second half to make it 2-1 but the Panthers took back control of the game and scored the third goal (
Kristian Colaci Horbunov) and fourth goal (
Jose Vega) in the last 25 minutes of the game.
The panthers now 10-2 (4-2 in KJCCC) and ranked #12 in the NJCAA will face Kansas City Kansas Community College on Wednesday October 2nd in Kansas City. KCKCC is one of only two teams to beat the Panthers this year.
