McMiller a 3-Star prospect out of Hanover Horton High School officially visited Missouri University out of High school but opted to go the prep way instead. After a year of prep ball Jay went south to play NJCAA ball in Texas at Paris Jr College before transferring to Neosho.
 
While at Paris Jr College Jay helped the Dragons to a 23-8 season. After transferring to Neosho Jay hasn't just been successful on the court but will graduate this spring and is currently carrying a 3.1 career GPA.  Along with his academic success Jay is the 3rd leading scorer for the Panthers averaging 10.7ppg. Jay has started in 14 of the Panthers games this season and leads the team in assists.
 
"Jay is a great young man that really knows the game." Head Coach Jeremy Coombs said, "Having a point guard that can be an extension of the coach on the floor really helps and I'm really happy to have had the opportunity to coach him."
 
Jay has not committed to playing anywhere next season, but as a 6'3 scoring point guard he's been turning the heads of several NCAA D1 coaches.
