Chanute, KS- On Wednesday, the Neosho Volleyball team opened up the 2018 regular season at home. The Panthers started the season with two set victories. First, Neosho faced off with KJCCC west team, Pratt Community College. The Beavers kept it close for the first two matches (25-21, 25-20) and then Neosho's offense started clicking and they took the third set by a score of 25-14. The Panthers had a .279 hitting percentage for the match and were led by sophomore Chandler Karr with 12 kills. The Panthers had 56 digs and were led by freshman Keeley Tallent with 15 digs for the match. Sophomore Sophia Padgett led the setters in assists with 20. 

Next, the Panthers take on Dodge City. Neosho came out strong and did not let down. The Panthers won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-14, and 25-14.  Sophomore Karlye Wagner led the Panthers with 6 kills and 4 block assists. Freshman Daisy Retana led the team with 11 digs.
Neosho will head to Wichita on Friday August 24, to compete in a Top 20 Invite at the Wichita Sports Forum. They will play #1 Coffeyville at 4pm. Then on Saturday August 25, they will play MCC-Longview and #3 Lincoln Land at 10am and 12pm. The Panthers will be back at home for their first KJCCC conference match on Wednesday August 29, against Johnson County Community College.
