CHANUTE – The Neosho County women's basketball team (7-23, 4-22 Jayhawk) fell short to Barton (16-14, 13-13 Jayhawk) in their final home game of the season, 87-62 Monday evening.
It was a slow start for the Panthers as they scored only 10 points in the first quarter. However, Neosho County would heat up with a second quarter surge dropping 19 points on Barton.
Neosho County's shooting woes showed up in the second half, only shooting 33% from the field.
Beth Hawkins led the Panthers with 13 points.
Lindsey Plank and Lexy Watts chipped in 8 points each.
Alexis Casher grabbed herself a team-high 7 boards and Erica Birch ripped down 6 rebounds for the Panthers. Points from behind the arc was a huge factor in this game with Barton shooting 73% to Neosho's 28%.
This was the Panthers final home game of the season. The Panthers will be on the road, Thursday, March 1
st, to face the Cowley County Tigers (24-6, 20-6 Jayhawk) in the first round of the KJCCC Playoffs. Tip off 5:30 P.M.
