Chanute, Ks. – The Neosho County women's basketball team (7-21, 3-20 Jayhawk Conference) fell to Garden City Community College (18-10, 8-2 Jayhawk Conference) Wednesday evening in Chanute.
Poor shooting from the field led to a long night for the Panthers. Neosho shot just over 26 percent from the field and less than 21 percent from three point line. Meanwhile, Neosho allowed Garden City to shoot over 45 percent from the field and 41 percent from three. The Panthers also struggled from the line making only 12-of-19 free-throws.
Alexis Casher led the Panthers in scoring with 11 points. Dequandra Lyles and Lexy Watts added an additional 6 points in 20 plus minutes on the court
. Alexis Casher dominated the boards, grabbing 10 rebounds.
Neosho travels to El Dorado, KS for a matchup against Butler County Community College this Saturday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
