Saturday the Panthers hosted the Red Ravens of Coffeyville in a Jayhawk Conference Showdown. The game also served as Neosho County's Autism Awareness game.
Coffeyville jumped out to a 22-9 lead after the first quarter due to poor shooting by NCCC. The Panthers played a much more balanced second quarter, taking a deficit of 36-21 into the second half. At the end of the third quarter, the Panthers trailed 53-35. NCCC was down, but not out yet. The Panthers went on a run that saw the Ravens' lead cut all the way down to 8 points, but it was too late. Free throws at the end sealed the Panthers' fate, falling 71-57.
Alexis Casher led the Panthers in scoring with 11, followed by Imani Jones with 10, and Calea Augustin with 9. Tricia Wattman paced the Panthers with 7 rebounds, followed by
DeQuandra Lyles and Casher each with 6. Lexy watts added 3 assists and
Lindsey Plank had 2 blocks.

The NCCC Panthers (3-18 in conference, 6-19 overall) travel to Liberal, Kansas on Wednesday to take on the #8 in the nation Seward County Saints (19-2 in conference, 23-2 overall) at 6pm.
