Box Score The Panthers traveled to Hutchinson Kansas to take on the #16 Hutch Blue Dragons. Neosho came out shooting lights out and took an early lead. But in the late few min of the game just couldn't finish off the Dragons.
"We really needed a few stops late but just couldn't get one when we needed it." Coach Jeremy Coombs said "We just didn't put it together on both ends of the floor tonight."
According to the Blue Dragon twitter, the Panthers broke the opponent's first half 3-point record knocking down 12 3's. They tied the record for most 3's made in a game for an opponent with 18 and Lual Dung tied the individual record for 3's by an opponent in a game by knocking down 9 from behind the line.
"He was definitely feeling it tonight." Said Coombs "When you get a guy with a hot hand like that you just have to keep getting him the ball."
Lual hit 9 of 11 from 3 and finished 13 of 15 from the floor to finish with a career night of 39 points.
Dung had 22 points at half yet the Panthers still found themselves down 2 going into the half.
The 2nd half was a back and forth battle for 17 minutes but the Dragons would dominate the paint and knocked down several free throws in the final 3 minutes that ultimately put the Panthers away.
