Chanute, KS- After an impressive opening day performance, the Panthers came out cold against the Northern Oklahoma College-Enid Jets in the first quarter on Tuesday. The Jets offense combined with poor shooting by the Panthers proved to be to much in the 94-76 loss.
Neosho shot just 36 percent from the field and 20 percent from three. Meanwhile,
NOC-Enid was on fire, they shot 54 percent from the field and 38 percent from three. Neosho led NOC-Enid in second-chance points and in points off turnovers. The Panthers scored 27 of their points on 22 turnovers by the Jets and also scored 25 second-chance points compared to 4 points by the Jets. However, that was not enough to put the Panthers on top.
Sophomore
Erica Birch led the team in scoring with 13 points.
Calea Augustin and
Jessica Jones each added 11 points. Sophomore Alexis
Casher ripped down 10 total rebounds and added 8 points. Freshman
Chrissy Brown scored 9 points, while
Jordan Chiles chipped in 6 points and 3 steals.
The Panthers look to improve, as they travel to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Tip-off is set for 6:00 pm. You can catch the action live at the link below:
