Poor shooting leads to Panther road loss

Box Score Panthers hit the road Monday night to take on the Tabor Blue Jays JV squad. Panthers start out  taking a commanding 9-0 lead, but the Blue Jays wouldn't go away, as they got hot from behind the 3 point line forcing the Panthers out of their zone.

"I thought we did a poor job finding shooter and running them off the 3pt line." said Head Coach Jeremy  Coombs " We just didn't do the little things that make our zone work and they took full advantage of it by making several open 3's."

Going into the locker room at the midway point the Panthers found themselves down 7 points. But the Blue Jays opened second half by connecting on two consecutive 3's and quickly took the lead to double digits.

The Panthers would come storming back and cut the lead to 6 but that was as close as they would get as Tabor knocked down several more 3's and finished the Panthers off by hitting 9 of their last 11 free throws to win the game 75-61.

Samson Kohman ended the night with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Tevin Downing added 12 more points and 6 rebounds.

Panthers are back in action Wednesday as they travel to Indy to take on the Pirates in an 8:00pm tip.
