Like Thursday, the Neosho County Community College baseball team split with Allen County on Saturday in Iola.
In game one, the Panthers only tallied one hit in a 3-2 loss.
The lone hit went to sophomore outfielder Nate Crossman in the top of the second inning.
Crossman also drove in the team's two runs with a sacrifice in the fourth.
The runs put Neosho County in front 2-1, but Allen County won the first contest in walk-off fashion with a two-out double in the bottom of the seventh.
Sophomore Mason Knopp struck out five and walked none in 6 and 2/3 innings in the loss.
In game two, the Panthers jumped on the Red Devils quickly, scoring three runs in the first two innings.
By the bottom of the sixth, Neosho County led 12-0, but Allen County wasn't going to go away quietly.
The Red Devils responded with seven runs in the home half of the sixth, but freshman Hayden Wichmann came in as the third pitcher of the inning and settled things down Wichmann finished out the game, striking out two over the final 3 and
2/3 innings to earn his first save of the season. Sophomore Brennon Covington picked up the win.
Offensively, freshman Kaleb De La Torre, sophomore Tanner Arst and Crossman tallied two hits apiece, while eight batters collected at least one hit apiece.
The Panthers (17-12 overall and 7-9 in the KJCCC) will be back in action on Tuesday, hosting Seminole State (Okla.) College (20-7) for a doubleheader at 1 pm.
