The Neosho Men's Soccer program continued their scoring streak on Tuesday by putting 5 past MCC – Maple Woods to make it 10 goals in their opening 3 games.
Neosho started the game creating many opportunities. The freshmen forward trio of
Marcos Lucero,
Leo Araujo and
Charlie Davis caused a lot of problems for the Monarch defense but were unable to capitalize on any of their chances in the first few minutes.
The panthers finally broke through with a sharp finish from
Charlie Davis on a feed from
Marcos Lucero. A few minutes later
Leo Araujo was brought down in the box and given a penalty kick. Araujo himself took the penalty and calmly slotted it past the Maple Woods goalkeeper.
The score stayed 2-0 until about 10 minutes into the second half. A great through ball by
Cobi Black found
Renan Raposo open on the back side. Raposo made no mistake for his first goal of the season.
In the final few minutes on the game
Matheus Alves and
Josh Garcia scored one each to make the final score 5-1.
The Panthers (3-0) will travel to Rose State in Oklahoma on Thursday, September 1
st for another tough non-conference game before starting the conference slate at Cowley on September 6
