Iola, KS - The Neosho County Community College regular season title hopes are no more. The Panthers would fall at Allen County Community College in the last conference game of the season. The game would start in favor of the Panthers. They would get a 15 point lead early in the first half with a barrage of
Tucker Thompson 3's and
Freddie McSwain dunks. But Allen would not go away. The Red Devils would make a huge run to end the 1st half. The Panthers would lead by 2 at the break.
The second half never saw a team gain much of an advantage. Free throw shooting would be the difference in the game. Neosho would go 17/26 from the line while Allen would go 25/44.
Freddie McSwain would lead the Panthers with 23 points and 19 rebounds. Neosho would have a chance to tie with 5 seconds left in the game with a 3 pointer but the shot would fall short and Allen County would claim the victory.
The Panthers will host Independence Community College on Thursday February 25 for the first round Regional Playoff Game.
