Last night in El Dorado the Panthers came out with energy and aggression in the first 2 quarters of their game with Butler. The Panthers zone defense held the Grizzlies to 23% shooting in the first half and only allowed 25 points. The Panthers were able to shoot 31% and were only down 9 points at the half. The biggest struggle in the first half for the Panthers was the Grizzlies ability to offensive rebound. The Panthers gave up 13 offensive rebounds in the first two quarters which was more than their total rebounds for the half. Despite the poor rebounding the Panthers were still in the game. The 3
rd quarter is where the game slipped away from the Panthers. The Grizzlies scored 25 point in the quarter 14 of which came on Panther turnovers. The 4
th quarter revealed more of the same as the Butler pushed their lead to as much as 31 points. The Panthers were never able to get a run together and fall to the Grizzlies 67-39. Panther
Jhanai Felix led the team in scoring with 10 points off the bench. The Panthers will travel to Independence on Saturday. Tip time for that game will be 4 pm.
