After the Panthers fell at Hutch on Saturday, they hosted the Thunderbirds of Cloud County Community College on Wednesday night. From the tip the Panthers displayed energy and intensity on both ends of the floor that kept them within 5 points of the Thunderbirds at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was much of the same from both teams. The Panthers were able to cut the lead to just one point early in the second quarter but Cloud was able to push it to 10 points at the break. The third quarter has been the downfall for the Panthers in games this season, this would be true in this game as well. The Panthers gave up 23 points in the 3
rd quarter while only taking 7 shots. The majority of the Thunderbirds points in the third came from behind the three point line. This would continue into the fourth quarter as Cloud would add 26 points in the final session of play. The Panthers were unable to respond and finished the game with a final score of 85-52.
Panther Sophomore
Ki'Asha Harris led the team with 13 points and 9 rebounds while Freshman Center
Don'tajah Jones finished with 9 points and 9 rebounds in the losing effort.
The Panthers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Pratt to take on the Beavers at 2pm. The Panthers will be back at home on Wednesday December 7
th for their final home game of the semester when they host the Red Ravens from Coffeyville. Tip for that game is scheduled for 5:30pm.Â
