Wednesday the Panthers traveled to Liberal to take on the Seward County Saints. The Panthers have struggled from the field since returning from break and the first quarter showed more of the same. The Panthers shot a season low 17 percent from the field, but the Saints did not shoot much better at 18 percent from the floor, which allowed the first quarter score to stay close at 11 to 8 in favor of the Saints. The shooting issues for the Panthers continued into the second quarter, while the Saints improved scoring 25 points in the quarter to take a 35 to 17 halftime lead. The 3rd quarter was more of the same with the Saints continuing to build a lead. The Panthers showed signs of life in the fourth quarter causing turnovers and scoring through the offense. It was too little too late, as the Saints would maintain their distance and win by a final score of 74-44.
Kascity Martin led the Panthers in scoring with 13 points, while
Ki'Asha Harris led the Panthers in Rebounds with 11. The Panther host Barton this Saturday at 2pm, looking for their second conference win of the season.
