After a tough loss against Independence on Saturday afternoon the Panthers didn't have to wait long to get back on the floor and move on. Monday night the Panthers welcomed Wentworth Military College to Chanute. Both teams were in search of a win as they both have struggled as of late, but it seemed as if the Panthers had a little something extra on Monday. From the first tip the Panthers came out as the same aggressive team that played against ICC on Saturday. The Panthers jumped out to a 21-6 first quarter lead and never looked back. They continued to build their lead as the game went on putting up a 38-to 9 halftime score. The second half was more of the same as the Panthers continued to put up points through defensive stops and running their offensive sets. Every Panther on the roster saw playing time last night and all but one scored as the Panthers put away Wentworth Military 73-26.
Kascity Martin led all scorers with 16 points while adding 6 assists. Freshmen
Brooke Neal finished with 11 points and
Ki'Asha Harris had 10 points and 8 rebounds. The Panthers will have a couple of days to prepare for their next match up, when Missouri Valley comes to town on Thursday. Tip for that game will be 5:30pm.Â
