On Friday, the Panthers faced the MCC-Longview Lakers looking to get back to the win column after 3 straight losses. Neosho fought back and beat the Lakers in 5 sets after trailing 2 sets to 1 (25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10).
The Panthers started off strong with 16 kills and 3 errors helping them take the first set 25-19. The offense was evenly distributed, but leading the Panthers in the first set was
Rianne Richard with 4 kills. She was followed closely by
Mandi Taylor and
Mackenzie Brown, both with 3 kills. The next two sets the Panthers struggled with unforced errors, but came on strong defensively in the 4
th and 5
th sets with 8 blocks and 21 digs.Â
Rianne Richard led the Panthers with 11 Kills, followed by
Mackenzie Brown and
Jill Starling with 10 each. Mackenzie also led the team with 5 service aces for the match.
The Panthers move to 9-5 overall and look to move to 2-2 in conference on Wednesday as they face Highland in Chanute at 6:30pm.Â
