First Half
Neosho County (8-2,1-1) opened up their first conference home game against Dodge City (9-1,0-1) which would ultimately would lead to a back and forth battle. In a game that would see 17 lead changes, the Panthers would pull out a dramatic comeback over the visiting Conquistadors. Coming off a 90-77 loss to Hutchison, the Panthers would see themselves fall behind early in the game and had to claw their way back in. Leading in points for Neosho in the first half was
Freddie McSwain with 12, followed by
Marc Moon with 8. With Dodge City leading most of the first half, the panthers never trailed too far behind and kept the game close and exciting. Coming in clutch in the first half for the Panthers was
Tucker Thompson with going 2/2 behind the arc. Going into the locker room at the half Dodge City led the Panthers 48-40.

nd Half
Receiving the ball in the second half, Neosho quickly went to work to put themselves back in the contest. With
Marc Moon stealing back the momentum by tying the game at 52 all at 15:25 in the second half, this would begin the back and forth frenzy between both teams. Neither team could amount much of scoring advantage, with the largest lead of the second half only being eight, and with that only being the difference at the start of the half. Down by two with only two minutes left in the game,
Tyson Downing hit a go ahead 3 pointer to take the lead 84-83. After being fouled with only seconds left in the game,
Tucker Thompson would step up and make one free throw to make the score 85-83. This would set up a long haul shot for the Conquistadors with only 0.8 left on the clock, which did not drop and sealed the dramatic comeback win for Neosho and their first conference win.
Freddie McSwain led the panthers with 25 points in the game, followed by
Richard Granberry with 22.The Panthers will regroup on Saturday against Colby in another Jayhawk conference matchup.
