1st Half
Neosho County (8-3, 1-2) loses their 2nd conference game of the season to Colby Community College (10-3, 3-0). The Panthers would have a hot start to the game making a 10-2 run to open the 1st half, which would end up being the largest lead of the game for either team. Colby having just beat Independence Community College 3 nights earlier to open up their conference schedule would not go away easily. It was a back and forth game for most of the first half but with Colby winning the rebounding battle they would go in at halftime holding a 5 point lead.
2nd Half
The game would stay close for the entire 2nd half with neither team gaining a commanding lead.
Richard Granberry would lead all scorers with 21 points, going 9/10 from the free throw line. Colby would win the 3pt shooting affair by going 10/22, while the Panthers would only shoot 5/19 from long range. At the end of regulation it was all tied up at 76. The Panthers would strike first in overtime but could not outscore the Trojans in the extra period. The Panthers would foul late and send Brian Starr to the free throw line to try to extend there lead. He would miss the front end of a 1 and 1, but would corral his own miss and end the game. The Panthers will host Oklahoma Wesleyan JV on Tuesday, December 8 at 7:30 PM. Â
