Panthers Win a Nail Biter on the Road
Concordia, KS - Panthers will go 10-3,2-2 into Christmas Break with a 73-70 win over Cloud County. The Thunderbirds fall to 0-3 in conference play while the Panthers stand at 2-2. The Panthers had four players in double figure scoring. Freddie McSwain 19pts, Jalen Jackson 18pts 9ast, Tyson Downing 13pts and Richard Granberry 12pts 10reb. Cloud was led by Duby Maduegbunam 18pts 11reb, Aamahne Santos 13pts and Cardarius Williams 10pts.
The Panthers trailed the Thunderbirds by 3pts at the halfway mark but came out strong in the 2nd half and eventually went up 12pts with 6:32to play. Cloud eventually got back within 1 point with 4:20 to play by knocking down several 3 pointers. The Panthers would eventually pull away for the victory by sinking 8 of their last 11 free throws.Â
Panthers will return to action after Christmas Break when Garden City travels to Chanute January 2nd. The tip is set for 4:00 PM.
