After a tough lose at Rhema Bible on Saturday, thanks to two fall away bank shot 3's, the women's basketball team was looking to get back on track against the Eagles from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. After a sluggish start, and some hot 3 point shooting from the Eagles, the Panthers found themselves trailing by as many as 12 points. The Panthers settled in and were able to fight back within 7 by the end of the first quarter. The Panthers continued to battle in the second quarter switching up their defensive sets and taking an attack first mentality on the offensive end, but still found themselves down 1 at the half. Coming out of the break, the Panthers continue to cause problems for the Eagles with their defense. The Panthers forced 20 turnovers on the night and were able to gain the lead in the 3
rd quarter and pushed it to as much as 10 points. In the fourth quarter the Eagles put together a run but it wasn't enough, as the Panthers maintained control and beat OKWU by a final score of 73-66. Sophomore
Makayla Bell led all scorers with 23 points and 7 rebounds. While freshman
Ki'Asha Harris recorded her first career double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. The Panthers will travel to Beatrice, Nebraska this weekend to take on Concordia University and Frank Phillips College at the SCC Classic.
