The Neosho County community college won the first set, but were unable to finish off the Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds in Monday evening's 3-2 loss.
The Panthers won the first set 25-20, but Fort Scott bounced back to win the next two 25-20 and 25-20.
Neosho County Forced a fifth set with a 25-23 win. The Greyhounds took the fifth set 15-8.
Sophomore Jill Startling led the Panthers with 14 kills. She was the lone player in double figures. Freshman
Rianne Richard tallied eight and
Sabrina Ebarb seven. Starling also led the team, dishing out 24 assists.
Defensively, freshman
Taryn Strobel recorded a team-high 22 digs, while freshman
Riley McGinn had three blocks.
Neosho County (14-8 overall and 2-4 in KJCCC) will host Independence (1-9 and 05) today at 6:30pm.
