FORT SCOTT, Kan. – The Panthers extended their win streak to a season long nine straight with an 83-57 win at Fort Scott Wednesday night.

Despite a sluggish start Neosho (12-9) led by 16 at halftime thanks to a record setting defensive performance. Neosho held Fort Scott (7-12) to just 13 first half points. The Greyhounds led 6-3 early before Neosho outscored them 26-7 to end the half.

The Panthers pushed the lead to 31 points late in the second half before the Greyhounds went on a small run late to make the final score 83-57.

Joseph Acuil led all scorers with 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. The 7-0 foot sophomore also added a pair of blocks and needs just 3 more to reach 100 for the season.
Brett Frantz added 17 points while
BJ Jenkins chipped in 15 and
Freddie McSwain scored 12 to round out the double digit scorers.
Jackson Perez scored just four points but dished out 7 assists to give him 17 in the last two games.

Neosho will look to extend their win streak to 10 in a row Saturday when they travel to Kansas City Kansas (13-7).Â
