Panther Drop Final Regular Season Game

Box Score In a final tune up before the Region VI playoffs, the Neosho baseball team dropped a contest to Crowder College 4-0.  While the Panthers found themselves on the losing end, they were encouraged with how they played and feel ready for another playoff run.
Neosho used nine different pitchers in the contest, and freshman Nathan Whitcomb was tagged with the loss.  Roughrider Jordan Dey hit a 2 run homer in the second to open the scoring and from there Crowder controlled the game.  The Roughriders added 1 in the fourth and 1 in the sixth to extend the lead to 4-0.  Crowder starter Cody Whiting threw 7 strong innings, striking out 10 Panther batters.  Craig Johnson led the charge for Neosho, going 2-4 on the day.
The Panthers take the field again on Saturday for the Region VI Super Regional.  Neosho takes on Seward Community College in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday.  If the team split, the deciding game will take place on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. at Hudson Field.
