Box Score 2 On a beautiful day at Hudson Field, the Panthers celebrated their annual Multi-Generational game at the ballpark. Neosho dropped the first game to visiting Coffeyville 7-4, but bounced back to run rule the Ravens 14-0 in the second game.
The first game saw Neosho jump out to an early 2-0 lead on a 2 RBI double compliments of
Connor Goedert. From there the Ravens would answer, chasing Panther starter
Casey Quinlan highlighted by a pair of home runs by Jacob Spring and Kade Larson. Neosho would close the gap in the bottom of the sixth thanks to an RBI double by
Andy Young and an RBI single from Goedert to make the score 7-4. Coffeyville closer Carlos Aldana threw a scoreless seventh to secure the win for the Ravens.
Neosho jumped out to an early lead in the second game and never looked back. The Panthers scored 2 in the first, 7 in the second, 2 in the third, and 3 in the fifth to take a commanding 14-0 lead. That was plenty of insurance for starter
Jake Johnson, who was nothing short of masterful. The sophomore threw a complete game shutout, fanning 7 Coffeyville batters while scattering just 4 hits. The offensive explosion was led by
Craig Johnson who went 3-4 with 4 RBI's,
Tyler Sutherland who went 2-4 with 3 RBI's, and
Andy Young who added 2 RBI's of his own.
Neosho takes the field again on Thursday for the start of their final conference tilt of the year. The Panthers will take on the Fort Scott Greyhounds at Hudson Field. The games begin at 1:00 P.M.
