Box Score 2 Neosho couldn't get anything positive going on Friday. They dropped both games of a conference doubleheader to Coffeyville Community College. The Panthers dropped the first game 6-0 and lost the second game 12-2.
In the first game, Ravens starting pitcher Carlos D'Armas was masterful, holding the potent Neosho offense to 2 hits in a 77 pitch complete game shutout. Panther starter
Matt Slauter had a rough first inning, allowing Coffeyville to build a 4-0 lead. He settled down from there, but high pitch count chased him after 5 innings. The Ravens would tack on again in the bottom of the sixth to build the lead to 6-0.
Justin Warne and
Spencer Ibarra had the two hits for Neosho.
The second game again saw Coffeyville jump out early and often. The Ravens built a 7-0 lead after five complete innings. Neosho would close the gap to 7-2 thanks to an error and an RBI double from sophomore
Dylan Christie. Coffeyville would blow the game open in the bottom of the seventh and eventually invoke the run rule 12-2 after 7 innings.
Cody Hutchinson suffered his first loss of his sophomore campaign for the Panthers.
Connor Goedert went 2-3 with a double offensively.
Neosho takes the field again tomorrow for their annual Multi-Generational Day. The games begin at 1:00 P.M. at Hudson Field in Chanute.
