CHANUTE, Kan. – Five Panthers scored in double figures as Neosho (1-0, 0-0) began the 2014-15 season with a 125-59 win over Ottawa University on opening night.

From the opening tip the Panthers controlled the game with a full court press that forced the Braves into 27 turnovers. For the game Neosho outscored the Braves 38-4 off turnovers and out rebounded Ottawa 50-37.

The first half it was a trio of sophomores that helped guide the Panthers to a 68-31 lead at the break.
Joseph Acuil had 22 first half points on 8-9 shooting from the floor.
BJ Jenkins had only five first half points but dished out a career high 10 assists in the opening period while
Brett Frantz knocked down a pair of threes and finished with 11 points in the half.

In the second half it was more of the same as Neosho would continue to pull away. After the returners were dominant in the first half, it was the newcomers that made an impact in the second half. Oklahoma State transfer
Jackson Perez filled the stat line in the second half. Perez scored 13 second half points and added 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and a pair of steals in the period. Freshman
Freddie McSwain scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds to finish with 22 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
