Box Score 2 Neosho needed to get on a roll going into the playoffs, and today they took their first step toward getting on that roll. The Panthers won the first game 9-3 and won an agreed rain shortened game two 7-2. With the two victories, the Panthers have won 6 out of 7 games going into an important conference weekend at Coffeyville this weekend.
Neosho found themselves down 1-0 after the first inning of the first game, but pushed 4 across in the 2nd inning and 5 in the 3rd to take a commanding 9-1 lead. Panther Starter
Jeremy Mansur gave up 3 runs in 6 innings to pick up the victory for Neosho. Sophomore
Josh Merrill threw a scoreless 7th to finish the game 9-3. Neosho was led offensively by freshman
Colton Crocker who drove in 3 runs, and
Dalton Thompson and
Bobby Wernes who each had 2 RBI's of their own.
Game two saw Ottawa again jump out to a lead in the first inning. After spotting the Braves 2 runs in the 1st, Neosho scored 3 in the 2nd and 4 in the 3rd. The game was scoreless from that point on, and rain ended it for good with the Panthers picking up the victory. Neosho was led offensivel by

Craig Johnson, who each had 2 RBI's in the winning effort.
Neosho takes the field again this weekend in conference action against Coffeyville Community College. The games will be in Coffeyville, and take place starting at 1:00 P.M.
