Box Score 2 Temperatures didn't reach much above freezing for most of the day, but Neosho was able to win both games of the second day double header againse Labette in Parsons. With mist coming down, and the players able to see their breath the entire day, Neosho was victorious 8-0 and 6-1.
The Panthers looked to strike early in the first game, as they loaded the bases with no one out in the top of the first inning. Labette got out of the jam however, and the Panther rally was thwarted. Neosho loaded the bases again in the second, and wouldn't be denied, highlighted by a 3 RBI double by Freshman
Connor Goedert.
Colby Smith followed with an RBI single to drive home Goedert, and the Panthers led 4-0 after 2 innings. Neosho struck again in the 4th, highlighted by an RBI double from Smith, after Goedert started the rally with a 2 out double.
Robbe Ewing drove in 2 more and the Panthers lead swelled to 7-0. That was all the support
Chance Sinclair needed, as he was masterful on the mound for most of the day. He finished a complete game shutout, and only gave up 4 hits as Neosho won 8-0.
Neosho jumped out early again in the second game, plating 3 runs after again loading the bases with no one out in the top of the 1st inning.
Colby Smith drove in another in the inning and
Robbe Ewing added an RBI also. Labette got one back off Panther starter
Jake Johnson in the bottom of the 1st inning as Johnson struggled to settle in. From that point on, Johnson threw 6 innings of shutout ball to earn the complete game victory. The Panther offense came to life again in the 5th as they scored 3 more runs. Freshman
Dylan Christie drove in one run in the inning.
The Panthers are off until Tuesday, when they travel to Oklahoma to play Seminole State. The games begin at 1:00 P.M. and are tentatively scheduled at Rodgers State University.
