Box Score 2 The wind was blowing in on a crisp day in Parsons. Mistakes plagued the Panthers, as they were swept in day 1 of their conference series against Labette. Neosho lost the first game 3-2 in extra innings, and lost the second game 6-1.
Jon Furlong started the first game on the mound for Neosho, and threw 6 innings and only gave up 2 runs to the Cardinals. The Panthers struck first in the game, scoring 2 in the 3rd inning off RBI singles by
Matt Milner and
Connor Goedert. Labette answered with two runs in the 6th, but Furlong was able to limit damage and get out of the jam to keep the game tied. A costly error in the bottom of the 9th put the winning run on second for the Cardinals, and they were able to plate him off an RBI single by DH Mike Smith.

Jeremy Mansur came into the game in the bottom of the 5th inning and got out of jam. The Panthers used the momentum to plate one off the bat of
Colby Smith. The Cardinals answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th and Neosho couldn't rally.
The loss brings the Panthers to 10-10 on the season. They will take the field again on Friday in Parsons for day 2 of their conference series against Labette. The games will begin at 1:00 P.M. weather permitting.
