Box Score 2 The weather was a chilling 39 degrees for the first pitch at Hudson Field today as Neosho started their 2013 season. The cold weather couldn't cool off the Panther bats as they swept a double header against Brown Mackie College, 11-1 in game one and 11-1 in game two. Both games were completed in 5 innings due to the 10 run rule.
In the first game, sophomore
Chance Sinclair threw all five innings, giving up only three hits while striking out nine Lions. The panthers pounded out eleven hits, with
Connor Goedert and
Jake O'Brien leading the way. Goedert had two hits and drove in two runs, and O'Brien added two more hits with three RBI's, including a bases clearing double to end the game in the bottom of the 5th. Freshman Justin Warned also added two hits and two RBI for the Panthers.
Jon Furlong started game two on the mound for Neosho, only throwing 51 pitches through 5 innings, while giving up just one run, and six hits. Goedert continued his big day going 3-4, including another big home run while O'Brien added another 3 RBI. Freshman
Dylan Christie drove in three runs, and hit a home run for the Panthers.
The Panthers play again tomorrow at Hudson Field at 1 P.M. against the Longview Lakers from Kansas City. Coach
