The Neosho County Panthers opened their invitational tournament Friday (Oct. 11) afternoon by knocking off Oklahoma Baptist University JV in straight sets 25-7, 25-20, 25-9. The win extended their winning streak to a school record tying 16 in a row.

In the first set the Panthers jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back. Genesis Mejias was a force in the set tallying six kills including the final four points in the set.

In the second the Panthers would begin to get some playing time for some different players. Freshman Katy Rhodd and Annelle Anderson each recorded a pair of kills and Mejias added 3 more in the set.

The third would see the Panthers once again jump out to an early lead and cruise as they lead 9-4 before scoring 8 straight points to put the match out of reach. Tasha Wampler tallied four kills in the set and Anderson a pair. The win gives the Panthers their 16th straight win as they improve to 22-5 on the season.
