Box Score Jamie Batish scored a career high 32 points as the Neosho County Panthers downed Missouri State University-West Plains Wednesday (Jan. 2) evening. The Panthers finish their non-conference schedule 7-5 with the win.
Neosho County jumped all over the Grizzlies early as they jumped out to a 9-0 lead and led 15-7 lead with a pair of threes from
Jamie Batish and
Jeremy Nolen. The Panthers hot start would continue as they would lead 32-17 at the 10:00 minute mark.
A timeout by the Grizzlies would cool the Panthers off however as West Plains would end the half on a 23-6 run to go to the locker room leading 40-38. After hitting a pair of quick threes to start the game,
Jamie Batish would catch fire in the second half scoring 26 of his 32 points in the second half including six of his 8 three pointers.
Neosho would take the lead for good at 52-49 with 14:31 to go in the game on a three pointer by
Jamie Batish. The Panthers would slowly begin to pull away for the shorthanded Grizzlies who only had six players in uniform for the game.
Batish was 10-14 from the field in the game including 8-11 from three on his way to a career high 32 points. Nolen would notch his second double-double in as many games as he finished with 20 points to go with his 11 rebounds.
Keegan Oyugi dished out 7 assists to only 1 turnover in the game giving him 15 assists in the Sonic Shootout.
The Panthers will be back in action Saturday when they open up Jayhawk Conference play. The women will take on Independence Community College at 5:30 followed by the men at 7:30. The games can be heard on 105.5 in Chanute as Zoel Lopez and
