Historic Season Comes to a Close

The nation's leading hitting team broke out of a mini slump in a big way as they erupted for 14 runs on 16 hits over the first two innings to put the game out of reach for the Panthers. The Reivers, who have spent the majority of the season as the #1 ranked team in the nation, plated seven runs in each of the first two innings.

The Panthers would get a run back in the second on an RBI ground out by Kas Sanders, but that would be all the offense they would muster.

Michael Kirkland, Josh Merrill, and Dalton Cox would each throw a scoreless inning of relief, but the deficit would prove too large to overcome and the Panthers season would come to a close with a 14-1 loss.

The loss gives the Panthers a sixth place finish at the JUCO World Series. They finish the season with a school record 49 wins to go with 16 losses.
