The Neosho County Panthers swept Cowley College with a pair of shutouts to keep their hunt for a home playoff game alive. It is the first time Cowley has been swept in a conference double header they were swept in by Kansas City Kansas Community College in 2007. The last time the Panthers tossed a pair of shutouts in a conference series was 2003 when they did it against Coffeyville Community College.
In game one a pair of future Oklahoma State Cowboys squared off on the mound, and
Daniel Peterson won the matchup tossing a complete game shutout to earn the win. Peterson allowed only five hits while walking none and striking out three.
The Panthers would take a 1-0 lead in the third inning after
Kas Sanders led off the inning with a single.
Jordan Miller laid down a bunt that Cowley pitcher Drew Palmer threw away putting runners at second and third.
David Bote would drive Sanders in with a groundout.
They would tack on an insurance run in the fifth after
Jordan Miller singled and stole second.

The Panthers would be held scoreless until the fourth when
David Bote's two out single scored
Nick Feighner who had led the inning off with a walk.
The Panthers would fail to push a run across in the fifth and sixth innings despite having multiple base runners on in each frame.
Chance Sinclair bounced back from his rough start last weekend tossing six innings, allowing only four hits while walking three and striking out five.
Max Ising would come on and pitch a perfect seventh striking out the side to earn his sixth save of the season to preserve the shutout. The shutout gives the Panthers a school record nine for the season.
The sweep makes the Panthers 38-14 overall and 21-11 in Jayhawk Conference play. They 38 wins coupled with 46 last season gives the sophomore class the most wins for a class in school history. They still trail Johnson County by one game for second place in the race to host a playoff series. Johnson County will travel to Independence Community College next weekend for the final conference series while the Panthers will host Allen County to conclude the regular season.
