The Neosho Panthers and Seminole State Trojans met at Jenks High School in Oklahoma to square off for a double header with the Trojans taking two on the day.

In game one the Trojan offense came out swinging and jumped out to an early 6-0 lead scoring two in the first, three and the second and one in the third.

Kenny McKee would give the Panthers a lift on the mound as he came on in relief and pitched 3.0 scoreless innings while striking out five and not allowing a hit.

The Panthers would get one run back in the fourth when David Bote, Adam Giacalone, and Tyler Palmer singled back to back to back, but that is all the scoring they would muster.

Neosho would threaten again in the fifth when they loaded the bases, but they would not push a run across.

Seminole would extend their lead with three more runs in the sixth making the final score 9-1.

Game two would be a closer one, but costly miscues cost the Panthers.

Tyler Kjellsen got the start on the mound for the Panthers tossing 5.0 innings allowing five hits and four runs while striking out six. Poor fielding opened the door for the Trojans as three of the runs they scored were unearned thanks to four Panther errors.

The Panthers would struggle to score runs in the ballgame finally getting on the scoreboard in the seventh inning. They would score their first run on a sacrifice fly from Robbe Ewing. They would add one more run thanks to a Trojan error, but that is all they could manage as the tying run was stranded on base.

The loss drops the Panthers to 18-7 overall and 4-4 in Jayhawk Conference play. They will be back in action Saturday at 1:00pm when they head to Independence Community College for the first two games of the four game series. All four games can be heard online or on Hot 105.5 KKOY.
