#4 Panthers Fall on the Road to #29 Crowder

Box Score
The Neosho County Panthers dropped their first game of the season Wednesday falling on the road to the Crowder College Riders 8-2.
After falling behind 1-0 following a leadoff homerun from Crowder in the bottom of the first, the Panthers clawed their way back in the game thanks to an error and a wild pitch to take a 2-1 lead. The lead would be short lived however
as Crowder would answer right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the third and one more unearned run in the fifth to take a 3-2 lead.

Tanner Dahl would take the loss on the mound for the Panthers as he tossed 6.0 innings allowing three runs only two of
which were earned. He would scatter seven hits while striking out three on the day.

Crowder would add insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings, but it would prove to be a non factor as th
e Panthers would only have three runners reach base after the fifth inning. For the game the Panthers would leave 10 men on base failing to capitalize on five hit batters and a walk in the loss.

The loss drops the Panthers to 12-1 overall while Crowder moves to 10-4 on the year. The Panthers will be back in action Saturday March 3rd and Sunday March 4th when they host Coffeyville Community College (3-7 overall) to open Jayhawk Conference play. The teams will play double headers starting at 1:00 pm both days and can be heard on Hot 105.5 FM or Online.
