The Neosho County Panthers picked up two more wins today to extend their win streak to 12 games to start the season. It marks the best start to a season in school history, and the 12 game win streak is the second longest in school history.

Daniel Peterson (Lenexa, KS) got the start on the mound for the Panthers and tossed a solid 5.0 innings allowing only an unearned run in the third inning. The sophomore righty scattered four hits while walking one and striking out four.

Peterson would have to settle for a no decision however as the Panthers could only muster a pair of hits through the first five innings of play. Freshman Josh Merrill came on and tossed a scoreless sixth inning to give the offense a chance.

In the bottom of the sixth the Panthers would finally break through to take their first lead of the game. Jordan Miller (Spring Hill, KS) and David Bote (Thornton, CO) would start the rally by drawing a pair of walks before Adam Giacalone (Shawnee, KS) singled to load the bases. Garrett Schaede (Owasso, OK) would provide the big blow when his single cleared the bases thanks to a DMACC error.

Robbe Ewing (Stockton, MO) would help the Panthers tack on what would prove to be a crucial insurance run by stealing second following his two out single. As the DMACC defenders relaxed following his single Ewing took off for second. When the pitchers throw sailed high, Tyler Palmer (El Reno, OK) scampered home to score the crucial run.

Max Ising (Lee's Summit, MO) came on to close out the ballgame. A Neosho County error and a DMACC double would put runners at second and third with no outs. Ising would coax a ground ball for the first out, but it would allow the Bears to push across a run and make the score 4-2. After a walk, Ising would get some help from his defense when a sac fly to center ended in a double play as a DMACC runner was nailed trying to advance to third to end the game.

After the first three games of the series had been close games, the Panthers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in the series finale. David Bote put the Panthers on top in the first with his first homerun as a Panther to stake Chance Sinclair (Spring Hill, KS) an early lead. Bote would finish the game 2-4 with a homerun, a double, four RBI's and a run scored in the win.

The Panthers would score three more runs in the second and third innings as well as two more in the firth to cruise to the easy 9-3 win. Robbe Ewing enjoyed a solid game at the plate going 3-4 with three runs scored and an RBI while playing great defense in right field.

Kas Sanders (Fletcher, OK) would also score a pair of runs while going 2-4, and Jordan Miller would tack on a pair of RBI's to go with his 1-2 performance at the plate.

Chance Sinclair picked up his second win of the season on the mound tossing six innings allowing three runs on six hits while striking out three. Kenny McKee (Sapulpa, OK) tossed a scoreless seventh inning to close out the victory.

With the win the Panthers move to 12-0 on the season while DMACC falls to 6-5. The Panthers next action will be Wednesday February 29 when they head to Crowder College for a single nine-inning game starting at 2:00pm.
