Box Score Panthers lose by one against KCK

Even with
Thomas Drew (Grand Rapids, MI) buzzer beating three point shot at the end of the game, the Panthers still found themselves on the short end of the final score, losing 62-61 on Saturday night against the Kansas City Kansas Community College Blue Devils.
Neosho County jumped out to quick 9-3 lead over the first five minutes of the game. Six of the first nine points were scored in the paint by sophomore
Chris Patton (Victoria, Australia). The other three points were from
Raymond Jeter (Columbia, SC)to open the game for the Panthers.
The Blue Devils would take their first lead at 10-9 with 14:10 left in the first half.
KCK would extend the lead to as many as nine, before Neosho County would respond with a 14-2 run just moments after the start of the second half, taking a 42-39 lead.
The two teams would trade the lead a total of seven times over the seven minutes of the contest.
Freshman
Raymond Jeter (Columbia, SC) hit his third three point shot of the game to give the Panthers their final lead of the game at 51-50 with 3:06 remaining in the game.
The Panthers for the game shot 40 percent from the field and were only 7-17 for 41 percent from the free throw line.
The Panthers had three players in double figures for the game.
Chris Patton (Victoria, Australia)led the way with 13 points and 12 rebounds, while
Raymond Jeter (Columbia, SC) had 11 points and
Brison White (Wichita, KS)added 10. The Blue Devils were led in scoring by Brandon Morris with 23.
Up next for the Neosho County Panthers, they will travel to Fort Scott, Kansas to take on Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds on Wednesday night. The Panthers defeated FSCC 89-68 in Chanute on January 21st. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
