After Neosho County's pitching dominated the first two games against Brown Mackie the offense broke out for 19 runs in the final pair of games of the series to secure the sweep.
Nick Feighner got the Panthers on the board quickly in game one when he connected for his first career homerun. The Panthers would plate four more runs in the inning to take a commanding 5-0 lead.
The five runs would be more than enough for sophomore
Daniel Peterson who would go the distance on the mound tossing five innings allowing only one run on five hits while striking out six to pick up the win.
Adam Giacalone,
Kas Sanders, and
Chance Sinclair each picked up two hits in the game. Giacalone and Sinclair would each drive in a pair of runs while Sanders would plate a run with his RBI double in the fourth.
Garrett Schaede also picked up his first homerun of the season driving in two runs on the blast.
Game two of the double header would be more of the same for Panthers, as they would jump out to an early lead with four runs in the first.
Kas Sanders would proide the big blow with a two out RBI double to score two runs.
After the Panthers went quietly in the second, they would plate five more runs in the third.
Jordan Miller led the inning off with a walk before back-to-back doubles by
David Bote and Giacalone to drive in a run each. After a Brown Mackie error,
Tyler Palmer would connect for the Panthers third double of the inning.
Kas Sanders and
David Bote led the way for the Panthers in game two as they would each go 1-2 with a double and two RBI's.
Chance Sinclair got his first start of the season on the mound tossing 4 innings of one run ball to pick up the win. The freshman would allow a pair of hits while striking out three. Sophomore
Max Ising came out of the pen to toss a perfect fifth striking out two to close finish the sweep.
The Panthers are now 6-0 while Brown Mackie falls to 0-4 on the season. Neosho County will be back in action Wednesday February 22 when the travel to Ottawa University for a double header starting at 1:00pm.
